The last piece of architecture that I am going to blog about is the Alamo. If you're from Texas, chances are you've been at least once, probably twice. I've been at least 6 times. Being a history nerd, I loved walking through the site. It was a former Catholic mission and is associated with the Battle of the Alamo is 1836 when Santa Ana marched to San Antonio and surrounded the Texans inside. The Alamo is constructed of limestone, which is very common in central Texas. Most of our buildings are made from it. I've been here so many times and done the whole tourist thing every time, that the building is kind of annoying to me. I've been on field trips, family vacations, and once for a ceremony for the Army before my dad deployed. As much as I am just over the Alamo, there's no way I would go to San Antonio without seeing it.
