Rivera- 14

The Children's Villages Lavezzorio Community Center is just another one of Jeanne Gang's Chicago projects. It was built for SOS Children's Villages, a children's charity committed to training foster parents and reuniting siblings. On the outside, the building looks pretty neat. Concrete was layered in bands to express it's fluidity. It reminds me of layers of rock that you see in science books, layers that go back millions of years. It's the inside of the building that really impressed me though. There's a wide staircase that serves as a classroom in that it's got pillows for sitting and it's carpeting. The rooms are very open and it seems like a really cool building.
