Art Galery at Yale University
This building is a very famous building of Louis Kahn, because it is considered one of his first masterpieces of his architectural career. It is a very modern looking building (especially for opening in 1953) as was Kahn's general style for most of the buildings that he built during the 50's and 60's. It's modernity is accentuated by it being surrounded by the old, neo-gothic art gallery. I like the way in which the windows have smaller ones with a long bigger one above them, instead of them just being large solid panes of glass. The tetrahedral ceiling makes the interior intriguing and warm.
