Charles & Ray Eames, 1962
Eames Tandem Seating
I figured I'd cover something Charles and Ray Eames designed that I actually liked before covering more of his stuff that I dislike. These chairs should look familiar to many of you as they were designed for Dulles Airport in Washington D.C. and O'Hare Airport in Chicago back in 1958.

These chairs are simple, not plastic, and not overly engineered like much of the Eames' work. They are also durable, easy to maintain, and modular. I find them very comfortable unlike the terrible seats on airplanes.

I wish more of their work was like these chairs and less like this:

A more typical Eames desgin along with the back pain that comes with it
