This is the Carraro Residence
I don't think I would necessarily like this house design for myself, but when I saw the building it stood out to me and I had to admit it had a cool story. The steel-frame of this house originally came from the Alamo Cement plant, were otherwise it was planning to be demolished. This family payed only $20,000 for their frame were as if they built it from scratch would of cost them around $180,000. It just goes to show how there is a wide range of items that can still be needed. There are probably a lot of buildings like the cement company that are getting demolished. If architects took the same concepts as adaptive and reuse they could be making better/cooler schools and so many other types of architect. There is a lot of money to be saved from it.
