Spiller Blog 4

This is former President Harry S. Truman's house located in Independence, Missouri.  I went to a field trip to take a tour of this house in middle school and I remember not fully understanding what I was doing there.  Kansas City takes great pride in having Harry Truman be from there.  His humble upbringing is continually brought up as being the pathway to being a good person.  I know now how important Truman is simply because of the difficult decision he had to make whether or not to drop the bombs.  The decision must have weighed heavily on his conscience.  Looking at the house now I can appreciate more about the man and his history.

Architecturally, the house is very beautiful.  I especially enjoy the stained glass windows on the front.
