Phillips Exeter Academy Library in Exeter, New Hampshire

This is a very alluring library I would definitely want to visit sometime that was built by Louis Kahn in 1971. It is a little bit deceiving in how it looks like a decently plain office building or library from the outside, but when you get inside there is this grand meeting area of the building. To me, it looks kind of like there were big holes cut out so that you can see the lobby from the bookshelves and vice-versa. It ties all of the spaces together and is a lot more visually pleasing than just tall, boring walls. I also enjoy looking at the ceiling and how the beams interact with the lighting at the top. It seems as though the theme of shapes using concrete is present in many of Kahn's buildings and that he had very modern thoughts about architecture.
