In 2006, I.M. Pei built the Suzhou Museum, a Chinese art museum, in a historic part of China. He had been asked by the Chinese government to build here where he could match the historic area but also have a modern taste. As we can tell by the photos, he did just that. Of what I've read about this building the locals seemed to enjoy it very much.

The Suzhou Museum seems to bring geometric shapes into a whole realm of beauty. The play on textures and nature is really brought to life by
I.M. Pei. The museum has water that comes right next to the building, some areas inside have wood covering top to bottom, and the sculptures outside where the small mountains reflect off the water.
I enjoy looking at pictures of this museum. I did recognize that I.M. Pei has a flair for geometric shapes and in particular the triangle. The last blog about him covered the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. He had built a geometric pyramid and looking at the Suzhou Museum he brings the same sort of shapes in as well. He also incorporates windows into his triangle shapes as well. I'm not an expert, but I would assume that with that shape, the natural lighting must be amazing inside.
