Display in Mies Van Der Rohe's German Pavillion exhibition, the Barcelona chair became one of his iconic interior designs. It was famous for its simplistic contemporary style. Similar to Mies’s buildings, the Barcelona chair was constructed elegantly with the concepts of less is more. The stainless steel bars of the chair gave structures to the lines and proportions of the leather cushion. In today market, replica of Rohe’s chair can range from 900 to 1300 dollars. Barcelona chairs are used in the architecture building at the University of Oklahoma. Other chairs that were also created by Rohe were the Tugenhat and Brno chairs.
