The Rokko House

This is such an amazing residential building, I love that it’s
actually built into the mountain itself.
Unlike the usual structure of a residential building which offers little
as far privacy goes, this building seems to have captured it all. There
personal “garden terrace” which allows each resident to have a personal touch
on this jointly owned building which is something traditional structure can’t
usually achieve.
The cascades in various levels and heights look perfect amongst
the greenery of the mountain. Tadao Ando’s
work is very much about harmony between nature and his architecture and this
building really a beautiful example of that.
Tadao Ando actually built a total of tree of buildings here; Rokko House I, II and III.
