Teatro Carlo Felice is an opera house in Genoa, Italy. Most
of the exterior is a recreation of the 1800s building. It appears that Rossi
was responsible for designing the interior and the back of the building, which
reopened in 1991. I find the interior beautiful. The wood balcony is one of my
favorite aspects of the room. I also like the dark brick or stone walls. I am
torn about the windows. I feel windows are necessary, but they don’t seem to
mesh with the room as a whole. I also appreciated that his design included the retention of the historical exterior.
