Eaton Blog - 11

This is the Langston Hughes Library, located in Clinton, Tennessee. Langston Hughes was a prominent figure in African-American literature in the early 20th century. The concept of Maya Lin was to have an elevated reading room and keep consistent with 1860's Tennessee architecture. There are over 5000 pieces of African-American literature located inside the library. This is an interesting piece of architecture, but what I enjoy most is the simplicity of the library. It almost seems like this building is just suspended in mid-air in the middle of the woods reading, you know? This is any readers' dream destination for reading without being bothered.
