The Mayo Hotel in Tulsa is another one of my favorites, even though I haven't been able to tour the whole thing. Before my mother and father met, my dad worked here. He talks about how beautiful it was when he was there all the time. He tells great stories about how his long hair wasn't suitable for waiters so he wore a wig with sideburns. Sometimes he forgot to fold down his brunette wig's sideburns and his long blond hair would show. However, the hotel was shut down due to asbestos. Then about 2009, someone took over and redid the entire hotel. (There are some before and after pictures below). This hotel has good memories for me as well because it reminds me of my father.
