The Luce Memorial Chapel was built by I.M. Pei in 1963. It is located in Taiwan on the grounds of an university, Tunghai. It cost the university over $100,000 and was built with the environment in mind. The area is prone to earth quakes and typhoons. The reinforced concrete was the solution to these problems. I.M. Pei again used his geometric shapes and tall glass windows.

In fact, looking at the picture above, Pei used the diamond shaped tiles all over the roof. This keeps with the over all theme of the chapel, geometric shapes. Even though the chapel seems to be full of straight lines, When over viewing the entirety of the building it looks like a curved triangle.
