Most of my blogs have been about buildings that I've personally encountered that we haven't covered in class. However, I just had to include Il Duomo. To me, this Florentine structure is the most iconic structure in the entire world. Since my teenage years, I've been fascinated by this work of art. I've visited it in video games, watched documentaries about it, and written reports on its construction. When Brunelleschi completed his dome, he almost singlehandedly defined an entire style of architecture. If I were ever to travel overseas, I would head straight for Florence to visit this magnificent construction.
