The head house at the TWA Flight Center is one of Eero Saarinen's most unique works. Completed in 1962, it is one of Saarinen's only designs to have a futuristic style. The sweeping shell roof complements the large, angular glass panes that highlight planes while arriving and departing. The tube-shaped corridors further add to the futuristic, fantastic style developed by the rest of the terminal. As a whole, the structure is one of the most original and recognizable of Saarinen's works, with an unmatched sweeping form that still contains aspects of the catenary shape characteristic of his style.
