The Piece of architecture above holds a great sense of emotions for me. This is a the fraternity house I was a member of and the place I called home for a chunk of my college career. this was one of the most expensive fraternity houses up to its completion date in 1029. One of the reasons I love the architecture to this building is the castle feel. I have had the privileged as a legacy to be a member of this fraternity. However even if I was not able to do this, I would still admire the actual house here. Set aside what it is and the structure is beautiful. When you walk by or drive by you question what the beautiful structure is in the Chautauqua Historical area. This piece was building is actually quite a bit smaller than the original plans in the 20's. There was originally another floor on the top of this that would have made the building 4 stories, 5 with the finished basement. however, the Stock Market crash and the Great Depression caused a halt on this, and the building was complete. The building has been placed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Because of this, the building cannot be added onto the front. unless it was int he origional plans. The housing corps did not want to go up with the house, as in the origional plans. So they are now more than doubling the size onto the back without changing a thing to the front. This building has so much history and so many stories, also many stories I personally have from living in this architecture masterpiece. The positive feelings I have towards this architecture might be somewhat personal. However, that is how architecture should be!
