                                                               Devon Auditorium

Most people in Oklahoma city, when talking about modern architecture in Oklahoma, will mention the Devon Tower. For me, an even more awesome and powerful building is the Devon Auditorium, on the lawn at the base of the Devon Tower. It is a simple and contemporary structure. Having simple walls and a sloped roof the eye is drawn to the large glass window on the east side.
Once inside the auditorium the spectator realizes the large glass window is at the back of the stage. The auditorium is open to meetings, lectures or concerts held by Devon or others. Curtains can be lowered to cover the windows and minimize distractions. The view from inside is as simple yet beautiful as the building appears from the outside. I welcome sight to the new downtown Oklahoma City.
