Emanuel blog 13

The Sagrestia Vecchia, or Old Sacristy, located in Florence, Italy. This Christian building that was built by Filippo Brunelleschi is seen as one of the most important monuments of Italian Renaissance Architecture. It was paid for by the Medici family who used it for a sacred place to lie their tombs. This structure seems to have more color than Brunelleschi's other works, even though the colors are still hues of neutral colors. Construction began in 1421 and ended in 1440 where it was soon connected with the San Lorenzo in 1459. I do like the simplistic approach to the Sagrestia Vecchia with its small size. The decoration that was used to enhance the interior does not catch my eye as something that I like.
