This building is Evans Hall located on the North Oval at The University of Oklahoma. This building has influenced me in an extremely positive way, with a slight bit of negative feelings. As a freshman on OU's campus I did not venture to the North Oval very much, and I definitely did not know much about Evans Hall. I thought it was part of the library. However, this building houses the president and many vice presidents. A large amount of the university's administration is run out of this building. When I was I sophomore I got the opportunity to work in this building as a student intern in the office of the Executive Vice President and continued to intern there for three year. I have just recently accepted a full time job in this office after I graduated in May. This building is a place where I was able to do my first small interior design job for the vice presidents office, it is where I was able to make unbelievable connections, and it has given me an unbelievable career opportunity to start making money and work on historical preservation and homes on the side. As far as the negatives go then only negative is the interior. the office spaces are not that bad, however the main area is undoubtedly in need of some TLC. The outside is simply gorgeous. The windows and Gothic feel, make me feel as though I am going to work in a castle. If it were up to me, I would nothing other than the main area of the building, however, overall I would say this building is a hidden gem in the pool of OU buildings brilliant brick Gothic architecture. I do not know how you can pass by this building without having the desire to go inside and check it out!
