Dunham- Blog 2

Seattle, Washington is home to the most contemporary Catholic Church that I have ever seen; in fact, I had to look twice to ensure that I had found the right building. I did not believe that this modern, abstract building with a reflection pool would possibly pass for a catholic chapel. Without the cross at the tallest point of the roof the St. Ignatius Chapel would be impossible to identify as a church. Steven Holl’s award winning chapel does not resemble a traditional church on the interior either. While it is different, and I prefer the traditional and old church style, I find the design of this chapel very intriguing.
