Holloway Blog 2 - Ilume Dallas

                 I went to yoga classes at the condominium with my mother when I lived at home. On the outside, its not really too great. The neon, while it fits with the uptown scene in the area, is just too gawdy, even if it is my favorite color. The one thing I can find that I like on the outside is the sort of stairstepped structure coming out from the middle, other than that it seems to just try too hard to make a boring building pop. However, the interior pool area makes up for this.

                The pool just glows in the shadow of the walls. Small gardens line the perimeter, and all of the balconies face into this rather than into the traffic of the outside world. It serves as an oasis of relaxation in an area otherwise dominated by the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and somehow the color blocking that was somewhat out of place on the outside helps to meld the shadows within.
