Moser-7 Byodo-InTemple

The Byodo-In Temple
Valley of the Temples Memorial Park
Kahaluu, O'ahu, Hawaii

When I lived in Hawaii as a child my father would take me to these temples.  I see these temples and they stir up memories of my life there.  It’s an old Buddhist temple but it’s a non-practicing so visitors are welcome to walk free and explore the area.  It’s located next to a cemetery, nestled at the bottom of the Ko'olaus.
There is an old wooden bridge which you must cross to get to the temples, upon crossing there is a huge bell and if you donate a dollar you can ring this thing and supposedly it will answer prays and such.  There are a myriad of coy in the water, 25¢ will get you a hand full of food to feed them.  These are so many fish you a found them as these lunge over each to get the food.  This temple really does bring a sense of inner peace. Of course when I was a child it was free and now there is a free, but they are still worth going to.
