House for Trees
These houses are designed by a Vietnamese architect, Vo Trong Nghia. Due to limited budget, only five houses are built in a densely populated Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Unlike the box houses that can be seen all around Vietnam, these non-traditional homes are designed to bring greenery back to the city. The architect used Banyan trees which have little underground roots and are supported by load bearing wall which made it suitable for rooftop. I feel the idea should apply to all the homes in Vietnam and possibly all polluted city. Because I have visited the Ho Chi Minh City on several occasions, I feel this is an extremely important project to improve the city air.
