Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed the headquarters for the Royal Highland Fusiliers. This Glasgow-based military regiment has a building that also serves as a museum. The facade has geometric regularity in the windows and cornice. However, the detailed carving within the geometry is in floral patterns. This shows Mackintosh's desire to combine geometric and organic. The building is also relatively small, but its cornice is designed so it does not appear so.
